Project Goals and Objectives
The pilgrimage aims to provide at least 375 peace and environmental workers to go through a physical, strenuous discipline of journeying/walking in order to: 1. proclaim and understand the truth of the Sierra Madre tragedy; 2. part from the injustice of environmental destruction; 3. penetrate the conscience of the perpetrators of the Sierra Madre tragedy; 4. protest the continuous devastation of Sierra Madre; 5. pay the price of committing oneself to the cause of the environment; and 6. pray.
Outputs and Outcomes
A program, which included a video presentation and sharing, was held before the pilgrimage. Afterwards, 340 individuals walked from EDSA Shrine to Our Lady of Antipolo Cathedral for more or less 6 hours, praying and collecting garbage along the way. A dawn mass then followed, upon the pilgrims' arrival in Antipolo.
