Project Goals and Objectives
To capacitate parishes in Cebu to become local BCSD champions, increase appreciation among lay members on how environmental conservation is rooted in the moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, strengthen the capability of Parish CECs in determining and responding to environmental issues and concerns in their local community, and provide support to parishes and other Catholic groups in their tree growing initiatives in line with the target of the Archdiocese of Cebu to plant at least 500,000 trees by 2021.
Outputs and Outcomes
1. Awareness Raising
- Documentation showing proof of an increased appreciation on environmental conservation vis-à-vis church teachings of at least 400 Catholic parishioners
- At least 50% of 163 parishes under the Archdiocese officially organized CECs
- Before and after photos of the 300,000 (at least) trees committed, with 50% planting rate
- Monitoring tool (tracker) of Parish CEC commitments created
- Documentation showing proof of an increased appreciation on environmental conservation vis-à-vis church teachings of at least 120 Catholic youth
- Before and after photos of 100,000 (at least) trees committed by the Catholic youth, with 50% planting rate
2. Capacity Building
- Documentation showing proof of at least 100 Parish CEC members capacitated in BCSD
- Hard and digital copies of BCSD training modules
- Report on the Environmental Situation Analysis with DRRM-CCA conducted in 20 pilot parishes

3. Support Mechanism
