Project Goals and Objectives
The project generally aims to 1. increase awareness of children and youth on the possible harmful effects of the use and disposal of plastics and Styrofoam containers and eating utensils and move them spiritually and concretely to conceptualize and do effective and practical alternatives in 12 parishes/schools within Metro Manila; 2. increase public awareness on the issue of global consumerism and gradually adopt a socio-environmental ethics of sufficiency through public information materials; 3. gather commitments from some popular restaurants and fast-food chains, specifically McDonald's and Jollibee, and schools to gradually change their practices and be more environmentally friendly; and 4. start preliminary lobby work for ordinances and laws which shall limit the use of plastic and Styrofoam in business establishments.
