Project Goals and Objectives
1. To enhanced knowledge and appreciation of PhilDHRRA members on efforts being undertaken by the government and civil society organizations in working towards sustainable development; and 2. PhilDHRRA members are updated on the challenges faced by the civil society organizations
Outputs and Outcomes
Enhanced knowledge and appreciation through: 1.) Learning sessions on social enterprise, agrarian reform and agricultural development, biodiversity conservation and disaster management 2.) Learning visit in two communities engaged in social enterprise: a) Community-based Heritage Tourism Project in Kawit, Cavite, and b) Soro-soro Integrated Development Cooperative (SIDC) in Batangas City 3.) Forum/ lecture-discussions: a) USec. Nicanor Perlas III presented DENR’s SIAD program, b) Mr. Benjamin Abadiano, Executive Director of Assisi Development Foundation presented the Zero Extreme Poverty 2030, and c) Dir. Trovela of DILG discussed the programs of DILG which involves civil society participation. A total of 43 PhilDHRRA 4.) members and 16 PhilDHRRA Secretariat staff attended the forum. 5.) Panel discussion on 1) the challenges faced by the civil society organizations: AsiaDHRRA Secretary General Ms. Marlene Ramirez, CODE NGO Executive Director Mr. Sixto Donato Macasaet, and Mr. Raul Socrates Banzuela, National Coordinator of PAKISAM; and 2) experience of the communities in addressing the concerns affecting their communities and how they capacitated themselves and implemented projects addressing their needs 6.) Photo-exhibit and product display: showcase of the programs being implemented by the members of PhilDHRRA in their respective areas.
