  • Grant Status: Past

Project Goals and Objectives

to develop a framework for assessing and monitoring "Dark Green Schools" in the Philippines, specifically to gather EENP members in a congress to discuss: a) social marketing strategies on promoting the idea of "dark green schools,"; b) the most acceptable arrangement on project implementation; and c) the more effective framework for the task of assessment and monitoring of EENP member schools re: DGS status

Outputs and Outcomes

Participants gathered in the congress and discussed the philosophy, methods and strategies of DGS. All the participants assented to the vital importance of introducing DGS into school systems and programs. The draft framework was presented and was validated and affirmed by participants. Because there was not much need to convince members, the need for "social marketing" was not deemed necessary since almost all agreed on the DGS concept from the outset. Instead, the arrangements on how to implement DGS Assessment of EENP schools were discussed and the activities for the next phase of the project were identified.
