Outputs and Outcomes
The two and a half-day conference focused on the following topics: forest governance, forest restoration, conservation-compatible livelihoods and financing forest management initiatives. The conference highlighted successful models of sustainable forest resource management, served as a forum for exchanging experiences that would contribute to policy formulation in the local and national levels, identified gaps in policy, science and technology and made recommendations to address these gaps; and, built networks and linkages amongst participants and organizations they represented. The conference materials and proceedings were distributed to sustainable development practitioners as a reference source.
