Project Goals and Objectives
General Objective: To enhance the capabilities of the indigenous in advocating their rights enshrined in IPRA Law and popularize the same among non-indigenous peoples towards generating support and solidarity. Specific Objectives: 1. To facilitate the IPRA orientation and discussion on laws affecting the IP towards comprehensive understanding; 2. To facilitate capacity building activities that would equip the traditional leaders/indigenous peoples leaders to become front liners in IPRA promotion and advocacy against oppressive law like the MINING ACT of 1995; 3. To facilitate consensus-building activity related to the formation of Provincial Consultative Body for Palawan of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP); 4. To sustain and enhance the anti-mining campaign against the Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Company, now Coral Bay Mining Company; 5. To provide possible venues for IPRA Law promotion among non-indigenous peoples
