Project Goals and Objectives
To strengthen unity among Luzon IPs and their capacity to mutually defend their ancestral lands and resources from the encroachment of destructive development projects.
Outputs and Outcomes
Exchange activity entitled "Pan-aaspulan" meaning "gathering" in Ibaloi term was participated by 16 IP representatives from eight ethno-linguistics groups in Luzon. Other activities includes community encounters or ocular visits to the mining site, a visit to the community areas, and a cultural and a solidarity night. Also, this project incorporated advocacy work in strengthening IP solidarity defense of their rights to land and self-determination. Documented experiences and conditions in the communities were used in educationg and influencing public opinion makers in media, academe and the church with respect to policies governing mining, energy and other development projects.
