Project Goals and Objectives
to develop a multi-stakeholder and multi-strategy movement for an integrated climate change and asset reform policy, program advocacy, and mass campaign
Outputs and Outcomes
a conference entitled "Fairness in a Fragile World (National Conference on Asset Reform, Environmental Change, and Conflict: Rebuilding Communities, Rebuilding the Nation)" was held; DAR incorporated climate change into their framework and 2010 plans as a result of policy dialogues; a Declaration of Convergence and Unity was signed by participants; formation of a national coalition for climate change and social justice labeled as the "Climate Change Congress of the Philippines (CCCP)" was agreed upon, but no copy of plans of action by the national coalition was submitted; CBCP and other delegates were provided with a copy of conference proceedings; dialogues and consultations were made with the following: DAR, DA, Climate Change Commission, and CBCP -- these resulted in negotiations for holding of consultations of CSO with climate change agencies; additional Php 1.3 B was added to the budget of DAR/CARPER for subsidies and credit for agrarian reform beneficiaries and support for farmers affected by climate change; Climate Change Commission signified openness to work with CCCP on policy formulation and convergence of government actions
