Project Goals and Objectives

aims to 1. share monitoring and evaluation (M&E) efforts among institutions and learn from their experiences; 2. have a common understanding of the monitoring tools being used to measure the impact of conservation activities; 3. formulate a common framework/protocol for monitoring; 4. identify gaps, needs and recommendations for M&E work; and 5. develop action plans

Outputs and Outcomes

Various presentations were made and three workshops on monitoring and evaluation were conducted. The workshops however fell short in coming up with standard monitoring protocols, but were able to make an action plan to form a stable alliance which can be a vehicle for setting directions for and addressing concerns in Monitoring and Evaluation. The participants mandated the Biodiversity Monitoring Alliance Steering Committee to discuss and make final recommendations on the strategy development for a national biodiversity monitoring protocol.
