Project Goals and Objectives
The SCP was envisioned to empower schools to become models of energy efficiency and sustainability. Specific objectives: 1. to develop youth leaders with a capacity to engage in the energy use debate and actively campaign for carbon emissions reduction; 2. to conduct energy audits in six (6) universities and to present options and measures that the students and school administration can undertake to contribute to energy efficiency; 3. to establish an energy efficiency program; 4. to deepen student awareness on the impact of climate change, inform them about renewable energy sources, and get them involved in the climate and energy campaign; 5. to demonstrate energy efficient practices and reductions in carbon emissions
Outputs and Outcomes
Accomplishments: six (or 5?) sustainable campus committees were formed; memorandum of partnership with PhilCarbon, which produced all energy audit reports of the 5 schools, was forged; production and distribution of visual promotion materials; crafted proposals for a public awareness drive; 2 of the 5 schools are replicating the project in their sister schools
