  • Grant Status: Past

Project Goals and Objectives

The project aims to gather faith-based organizations and institutions, and human rights groups and movements for a collective critical study and reflection on the climate crisis and its impacts and implications.

Outputs and Outcomes

To date, the project has succeeded in holding the conference-workshop as venue for the levelling off of different faith-based and human rights groups/organizations in their directions for addressing the climate justice issue. It has consolidated the individual efforts of each and has brought about a broader and stronger collective effort. The three-day conference-workshop has resulted in a Declaration – “A Statement of Unity” a clear call for climate justice and action points with set goals in achieving progress regionally, nationally and globally in the said issue. Organizing and mobilizations for scheduled activities has thus far been successful as well as - and perhaps more importantly - the raising of public awareness and understanding of climate justice.
