Project Goals and Objectives

Continue and strengthen the efforts to address the issue of aerial spraying and its impacts to people and the environment. The main targets of the project include the issuance of at least 1 national and 2 local policies that address the issue of aerial spraying as well as refiling of the Bank AS Bills in Congress

Outputs and Outcomes

At least 1 government agency issued a policy or official statement to address aerial spraying; One written report on the actual communities covered by the ongoing aerial spraying in plantations. The report shall contain the regions, provinces and cities with the list of banana companies operating and areas planted; At least 10 individual case documentations are prepared and signed by the affected local residents; At least 3 consultations conducted in Region XI and XII and monthly LGU visits done; A policy paper that is based on the policy review (taking into account the findings from the community mapping and consultations) is published; At least 2 resolutions/ordinances are issued by the LGU banning aerial spraying method in agricultural plantations; Monthly release of newsletters and press releases, feature stories of actual affected residents, press conferences/briefings conducted; Follow-up letters are sent to the Supreme Court to follow-up the case
