ADVISORY: Grants Review and Application for Fiscal Year (July 2021 - June 2022)
Posted on August 26, 2021Consistent with our mission to foster partnerships to have collective impact on conserving biodiversity and addressing the climate emergency, the Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) launched the Youth for Biodiversity Conservation (#Youth4Biodiversity) in March 2021. More than fifty (50) youth organizations have already started with their biodiversity conservation initiatives across the country. Further, we are partnering with the Forest Foundation Philippines for the Enhancing Capacities of Indigenous Peoples for Stronger Forest Governance and Biodiversity Conservation Program (#Strong IPs 4 Forests and Biodiversity) to help enable indigenous peoples conserve and benefit from critical forest landscapes and ancestral domains.
Despite the volatile situation under the CoVid pandemic since last year, we remain committed to pursue our mandate as well as initiate resource mobilization activities in order to continue supporting local organizations with their biodiversity conservation initiatives. As we closely review and calibrate our strategies this year, we would like to advise you that we will temporarily put on hold the review of project proposals as well as acceptance of new grants applications. We will be announcing the new schedules for reviewing and accepting new proposals on our website and Facebook account.
On a related note, as the first NGO Implementing Partner, we are anticipating to launch before the end of 2021 the Global Environment Facility (GEF) - United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Small Grants Programme - Seventh Operational Phase in the Philippines (SGP7). We shall be seeking partner organizations for conservation projects in Catubig Watershed in Samar Island; Aurora Province in the Sierra Madre; Siargao Island Protected Landscape/Seascape; Calamianes Group of Islands in Northern Palawan, and other priority are as to be determined in the near future.
Thank you very much for your understanding and continued support to FPE.
