FPE, Globe Turned Over Mobile Phones to Forest Guard Volunteers in North Negros Natural Park
Posted on November 13, 2015The Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) and Globe Telecom, Inc. provided 36 forest guard volunteers (FGVs) of North Negros Natural Park with mobile phones with SIM cards and one-year accident insurance policy on November 10, 2015 in Brgy. Codcod, Silay, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
These mobile phones and SIM cards will help forest guard volunteers in the protection and rehabilitation of their respective forest areas, particularly during roving, patrolling, and site monitoring activities.

FPE team up with Globe Telecom in 2014 (read: FPE, Globe Team Up Anew for Environmental Conservation Efforts) to provide ICT infrastructure support to the eight project sites of the USAID-funded “Upscaling Forest Restoration in Key Biodiversity Areas” project in Mts. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape; Ilog-Hilabangan Watershed Forest Reserve; Nug-as, Dalaguete and Tabunan Critical Forests Habitat; Mt. Nacolod Watershed; Panigan-Tamugan and Talomo-Lipadas Watersheds; Arakan Valley Forest Corridor; and North Negros Natural Park. The FGVs of North Negros Natural Park were organized and assisted by the Multisectoral Alliance for the Development of Negros (MUAD-Negros), FPE’s partner since 1993.
