Posted on September 2, 2021Foundation for the Philippine Environment partners with Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability – or #IDIS to ensure the protection and conservation of the biodiversity in Panigan-Tamugan Watershed, a sub-watershed located within Davao River Basin with utmost ecological importance.
In the first year of the project implementation, Bantay Bukid volunteers continue to lead the efforts in conducting series of river clean-up and waste collections where a total of 3,367 pieces of mixed solid waste were collected. The group effectively performed their roles in reforestation and monitoring illegal activities inside the watershed area too. In the project implementation's first year, 20,600 hills of seedlings were planted in their nurseries wherein a total of (13,602) were planted in the project sites to combat flooding brought about by climate change and deforestation.
Join and support FPE as we continue to foster partnerships with the environment and the community to protect the watersheds and key conservation sites in the country.
