FPE Rolls Out Strategic Focus for Next Decade
Posted on July 13, 2015The Foundation for the Philippine Environment (FPE) unveiled its strategic plan for fiscal years 2015-2025, reiterating its commitment to stay at the forefront of community-centered biodiversity conservation and sustainable development (BCSD) efforts in the Philippines.
The plan was discussed with the Foundation’s national partners, Regional Advisory Committee, and Experts’ Advisory Pool last May 13-14, 2015 in Iloilo City. It aims to build on 23 years’ worth of the Foundation’s pioneering accomplishments and learnings in BCSD in the Philippines.
FPE Executive Director Mr. Godofredo Villapando, Jr. introduced the Foundation's new strategic plan for FY 2015-2025.
Guided by its refreshed vision, FPE aims to spearhead and adapt innovative projects that will help address threats to the environment and capacitate people to having meaningful participation in the process.
The updated strategic focus is also centered on implementing and sustaining shared environmental conservation efforts to build healthy ecosystems that can stand in the face of the various and frequent natural disaster risks that have become all too common in the Philippines, as well as the other adverse manifestations of climate change.
Moving forward, FPE is gearing for a more proactive role as capacity-builder, partnership-maker, and policy advocate for the environment, complementing its already established roles as grant-maker, fund facilitator, and catalyst for cooperation.
