Online Call for Nominations to the FPE Visayas Regional Advisory Committee Members from Negros Island
Posted on June 5, 2018DEADLINE: June 9, 2018 at 5:00 PM
RATIONALE:
Every two years, FPE gathers its constituents through the Regional Consultative Group meeting to nominate a new set of leaders for its Board of Trustees (BOT) and Regional Advisory Committee (RAC). This year, FPE opened its nomination online to ensure a wider reach of NGOs, POs, and IPOs; and strengthen the participatory and consultative process of leadership selection.
Last April 13, 2018, FPE Visayas convened the Regional Consultative Group (RCG) Meeting participated in by more than 50 civil society organization representatives coming from Regions 6, 7 & 8. The primary objective of the said meeting was to generate nominations for the Visayas Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) and to recommend names for the Board of Trustees (BOT) of FPE. However, results showed a low turnout of RAC nominees. This result is attributed to the decline of several potential nominees for the position, while some did not meet the minimum requirements to qualify. To complete the two (2) vacant positions of the Visayas RAC, the Board of Trustees last May 2018 approved to re-open the call for online nominations.
VACANCIES (2) FOR NEGROS ISLAND:
As such, FPE Visayas is inviting everyone to nominate exemplary individuals working on biodiversity conservation and sustainable development (BCSD) from Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental to complete the vacant positions for FPE Visayas’ new Regional Advisory Committee members.
